US Eases UAV Export Restrictions

The U.S. State Department has announced a new policy designed to accelerate foreign defense sales by easing restrictions on drone exports. The decision treats drones like the F-16, loosening long-standing restrictions imposed under the 1987 Missile Technology Control Regime.
Department officials stated that the change will strengthen the US defense industry, increase cooperation with allies, and open new markets for UAV manufacturers. The policy will also enable faster and more efficient processing of foreign defense sales requests.
