NVIDIA launches new GeForce RTX 5050 graphics cards starting at $249 and RTX 5050 laptops starting at $999

NVIDIA announced this Tuesday the launch of the new GeForce RTX 5050 graphics cards for desktops and laptops, equipped with the Blackwell RTX architecture .
Desktop models will be available starting in the second half of July at $249, while laptop versions are already available starting at $999.
Performance and efficiency improvements with Blackwell architecture The new RTX 5050s feature next-generation technologies like DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, 4th-gen RT Cores, and 5th-gen Tensor Cores. These improvements enable up to 60% faster raster graphics performance and up to 4x faster DLSS 4 performance compared to the RTX 3050.
For those still using cards like the GTX 1650, the jump in performance and support for technologies like ray tracing is even more significant.
GeForce RTX 5050 for Desktop: Technical Details Each RTX 5050 graphics card features:
- 2,560 CUDA Blackwell cores
- 8GB of GDDR6 memory
- Maximum consumption of 130 W
- Supports 550W power supply
- 128-bit memory bus
- Minimum base frequency of 2.31 GHz
- Next-generation NVENC encoder and NVDEC decoder
The models will be available from manufacturers such as ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, ZOTAC, and others, in both assembled versions and pre-built desktop systems.
GeForce RTX 5050 for laptops: more power in less space Laptops with the RTX 5050 GPU are now arriving in stores. They feature 8GB of GDDR7 memory with a speed of 24Gbps, which improves energy efficiency and enables thinner and lighter designs—some as thin as 15mm and weighing 1.3kg.
These laptops offer up to 2.4x the performance of traditional graphics and over 4x the performance of DLSS 4 compared to the previous generation, benefiting both gamers and content creators looking for portability without sacrificing power.
Driver availability and compatibility NVIDIA has confirmed that its next Game Ready driver will be available in early July and will provide full support for all RTX 5050 models, both desktop and laptop.
Laptops are already shipped with factory pre-installed drivers.
