Autonomous robots are to transport vehicles from the reception zone to designated parking spaces , and also manage traffic within the yard, positioning cars on lanes for loading onto car transporters. They will carry out several thousand vehicle movement operations in this way each month , moving in an optimized way between the parking, reception and shipping zones.

As highlighted in the press release, Stradot transport robots (a company based in Toulouse - France and Salta - Argentina) are distinguished by their unique ability to lift vehicles to be moved and move alongside already parked cars, which will allow for maximum use of available space. This solution increases both the capacity of the storage yard and the efficiency of its use, reducing the space needed for maneuvering and marking lanes.

The implementation of the robots was preceded by tests, and the first pilot was carried out in May 2024 on the CEVA finished vehicle (FVL) platform in Loyette, France.

According to the company, the successful test program has confirmed the benefits of using Stradot robots in finished vehicle logistics operations, both in terms of optimizing storage space and streamlining vehicle movement, as well as potential efficiency gains. Furthermore, the use of electric transport robots will also reduce the facility’s environmental footprint.
