Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Strikers, the iconic arcade soccer game set in the Mushroom Kingdom, will be available on Nintendo Switch Online starting July 3, 2025. This is the first post-launch GameCube addition for the new Switch 2, and will be accessible exclusively for those who subscribe to the service's Add-On Pack.

Developed by Next Level Games and originally released in 2005, Super Mario Strikers is known for its fast-paced, over-the-top take on soccer, where traditional rules give way to pure chaos. Players can choose their captain from familiar faces like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Waluigi, before diving into modes like Grudge Match, Cup Battles, and Custom Battles.

Matches take place on fields fenced off by electric fences, with no referees to slow down the rough play. The action is fueled by classic items from the series, such as shells and mushrooms, and culminates in Super Strikes, special shots capable of scoring two points in one go. In addition to single-player, Super Mario Strikers supports local and online multiplayer for up to four players, with intuitive controls that allow anyone to step out and join in on the spectacle.
