Artificial Intelligence (AI) is advancing, and consumer brands are investigating how to offer end-user applications that can be useful in their daily lives. One of the most interesting is found in the new version of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition laptop. Among the smart modes on this device, they include one that alerts us if we are sitting incorrectly, if we have poor posture, to indicate how to improve ergonomics. They've called it Wellness, but other smart functions also improve and offer advice on energy efficiency, cybersecurity, noise reduction, collaboration tools, and more. This Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition with a 14-inch 2.8K resolution OLED display, Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors, a neural processing unit (NPU) that reaches more than 45 TOPS, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage, is one of Lenovo's new flagship products. It will be available in the Spanish market this summer for €1,399.

Lenovo took advantage of the opening of the Concert Music Festival (CMF), held in Chiclana de la Fronteras (Cádiz), of which it has been the main sponsor for eight years, to present the renewal of its main laptop and tablet devices. Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, Raphael, Miguel Bosé, Plácido Domingo, Residente, and Pecos, among others, will be performing at this event until August 18th. Patricia Núñez, Head of PCs and Smart Devices at Lenovo Iberia, explains to eleconomista.es that "the renewal of these device families is taking place to incorporate the latest Intel and AMD processors, and also to deploy all those new AI tools and features that seek to facilitate our daily work." This spokesperson also highlights Lenovo's leadership position in consumer PCs, which it has maintained over the last 25 quarters.

Solar powered

At Lenovo's permanent stand at the CMF, we found proposals under development, such as the first solar-charged laptop, the Yoga Solar PC Concept. We also found the Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept, the first transparent Micro LED computer, which seeks to "merge reality with the virtual," in the words of Patricia Núñez. With this last device, we can see what's happening on the other side while we work or project a movie. But other devices that were initially presented as concepts or prototypes can now be found in stores, such as the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, whose screen grows from 14 to 16.7 inches at the touch of a button.

Among the twenty-plus refreshed devices in Lenovo's catalog, we also want to focus on the Yoga Slim 9i. Available now from €2,099, it boasts the addition of AI "to transform creativity, productivity, and entertainment experiences." One of the features we liked most about this device is how it makes the most of its 14-inch 4K PureSight Pro OLED display by hiding its camera under the panel, so it only appears at the top when needed for video conferencing. Added to that PC Copilot+ system with Windows 11 is the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, with a 48-TOPS NPU. It also boasts excellent battery life, as its charging system and 75WHr battery will allow this Yoga Slim 9i to work or have fun for 17 hours without looking for a plug.

For the game

The revamp has also reached Lenovo's gaming division. Nekane Uriarte, head of consumer laptops and desktops in Spain, explained how the current trend in this family of gaming-oriented devices is to offer less strident designs so they can also be considered work computers. "We've detected that there are many gamers who want to take advantage of the power of these devices, which usually come with the most demanding specifications in processors, RAM, and graphics, to be able to work or study with them, and they want them to look more like a Yoga," explains Uriarte.

Of all the gaming machines presented, the Legion 9i is at the top of the range in terms of features. To give you a rough idea of the power level this device can achieve, it supports RAM configurations between 64 and 192GB, "something that brings it closer to the capabilities of Lenovo workstations," Uriarte points out as an example. This Legion 9i will be available in a range starting at €4,899 for the 64GB version and €5,999 for the 192GB edition. With these, you won't miss a thing thanks to its 240Hz refresh rate and its IPS panel with 4K resolution. That 18-inch PureSight display offers up to 4K resolution in 2D and, optionally, 2K in 3D. Thus, 3D returns, this time focused on designers who work with 3D modeling, allowing them to view their work thanks to a combination of eye tracking and lenticular lenses, so special glasses are not necessary. Another unique detail of this Legion 9i is its carbon finish, "which requires them to be made one by one, almost by hand," explains Uriarte.

Within the Legion gaming family, we also find other entry-level devices starting at €899, laptops that are focused on offering the best graphics and in formats ranging from 15 to 18 inches. Without abandoning the fun, Lenovo has presented a new version of its Legion Go portable console, the S. It stands out for its 8-inch 120Hz WUXGA 16:10 PureSight touchscreen to make it even more portable at just 730 grams in weight. Inside we find the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor exclusive to Lenovo Legion Go or the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, accompanied by up to 32GB of 7500MHz LPDDR5X RAM.

Lenovo has also unveiled its new IdeaTab Pro tablets with a 12.7-inch 3K 144Hz display, with an optional anti-reflective version, and four JBL speakers tuned to Dolby Atmos (€429). And the Yoga Tab Plus, the latter with a pen and keyboard included, has a 12.7-inch PureSight Pro 3K display, with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 900 nits of brightness. For the audio, it has opted for four woofers and two tweeters from Harman Kardon (starting at €799).

Smart Connect

Beyond all devices, or rather as something common to all of them, Lenovo continues to rely on the Smart Connect system. This allows you to work on documents, images, or files in a shared way by linking Motorola laptops, tablets, or mobile phones in a single session and profile. " Smart Connect unifies "digital ecosystems to create an optimal multi-device experience. It aims to eliminate interruptions when switching between compatible devices. This way, users can effortlessly switch tasks and maintain a continuous workflow, without having to worry about using devices with the same operating system to enjoy simple integration," explains Patricia Núñez.
