Death toll rises after plane crash in Sudan

The death toll from a military plane crash in Omdurman, Sudan, has risen to 46, with 10 people injured.
An Antonov military aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Wadi Seidna Air Base in Omdurman, Khartoum province, due to a technical fault. Sudanese authorities announced that among those killed in the crash was Major General Bahr Ahmed, who was based in Khartoum.
Eyewitnesses stated that a huge explosion occurred after the plane crashed and the flames spread rapidly. It was stated that the accident was caused by a technical fault and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
