Decision in Elçin Sangu's compensation case: Court rejects

Decision in Elçin Sangu's compensation case: Court rejects

A verdict has been issued in the compensation lawsuit filed by actress Elçin Sangu, alleging that a store with which she had signed an advertising contract continued to use her photos without permission after the contract expired. The court rejected Sangu's claim of 101,000 lira in damages.

A contract was signed between Sangu and the store for two commercials and two photoshoots, valid until 2017. However, the store allegedly continued to use the actress's photos for commercial purposes after the contract expired.

According to a report by Özge Eğrikar from Hürriyet, Sangu first tried to reconcile by applying to the Istanbul Mediation Office, but to no avail. Consequently, a lawsuit was filed.

The actor's lawyer, Mesut Kılıç, claimed his client's personal rights had been violated and requested 101,000 lira in compensation. The defendant requested that the request be rejected.

The Istanbul Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Civil Court rejected the case, with the reasons to be announced later.
