Google's engineering director sets a date for immortality

Raymond Kurzweil, who has successfully predicted many important developments in recent years, has now made a prediction about technology-assisted immortality and set a date for this pending development.
According to 3djuegos.com, the engineering director hired by Google in 2012 to oversee artificial intelligence developments in the fields of machine learning and language processing predicts that our health will go backwards starting in 2032: "For every year you live, you will gain another year."
Kurzweil suggests that advances in fields such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology will transcend the limits of human biology, shaping immortality as part of a process called the technological singularity.
Kurzweil's correct predictionsThe validity of Kurzweil's words does not only come from the fact that he has attracted the attention of giants like Google with his books and inventions. He is a name that has received engineer of the year awards and honorary doctorates from nearly 15 different universities. This engineer has gained his fame largely because he has managed to hit the bull's eye with his predictions since the early 1990s.
Kurzweil's motto for these ideas is based on the law of accelerating returns. This theory argues that technological progress occurs at an exponential rate, not linearly. This approach suggests that every technological innovation is not limited to adding new points to a timeline, but rather aims to provide increasingly rapid and profound changes by expanding the thickness of that line to infinity.
They are working to eliminate diseasesKurzweil’s influence in the field of futurism and technological foresight led to the establishment of Singularity University in 2009, in collaboration with Google and NASA, which aims to educate and inspire future leaders. This university is a center for developing technologies that will improve our lives and our environment by focusing on humanity’s grand challenges. As you might expect, eradicating disease and extending life expectancy are also part of this vision.
Kurzweil states that medical developments will accelerate when artificial intelligence, which he predicts for 2029, will be able to perform any mental task at a human level. This will enable artificial intelligence to analyze billions of molecular sequences through biosimulation and find the right mixture to treat a disease.
The key, Kurzweil told El Mundo, is how we approach Longevity Escape Velocity: “Right now, every year you live, you lose another year of your longevity. If you take care of your health, you can recover three or four months. So you lose about eight or nine months of longevity in a year. But AI is advancing rapidly, and by 2032, when you live a year, you will recover another full year. From then on, for every year you live, you will gain more than a year. Your health will regress over time. In the next decade, we will finally solve the problem of aging.”
