Steam has started testing its new design

Steam is making a major design overhaul to its store page to make game discovery more streamlined and user-friendly . Currently being tested in the Steam Client Beta, this update replaces the old interface, which consisted of cluttered menus and text links, with a simplified and stylish top menu design. The goal is to provide quicker access to the most frequently used sections.
In the new design, the "Browse" menu, located at the top of the screen, allows you to easily find games through categories like bestsellers, new releases, and on sale. The adjacent "Recommendations" tab offers personalized game recommendations based on the games in your library, your playtime, and community recommendations. The "Categories" menu also displays your most played genres and offers personalized tag suggestions, paving the way for new discoveries.
Steam's search function has also been updated. Most searched games, recently viewed games, and popular genres are now more clearly displayed. For users who want more advanced filtering, an "Advanced Search" feature is also available, allowing you to filter games using specific tags. Essentially, these features were already available on Steam, but with the new interface, they're much faster and more accessible.
"With these changes, we aim to make your Steam experience smoother and more tailored to your needs. Both player feedback and our own observations suggested that some sections of the store were becoming unnecessarily cumbersome to access," the Steam blog post reads.
However, it's noteworthy that this user-friendly update comes after Steam recently made the controversial decision to remove numerous games containing adult and sexual content from its store. While this move was reportedly intended to regulate relationships with payment services, many interpreted it as a dangerous step toward censorship.
This new store interface, which is currently only available to beta users, will continue to be shaped based on feedback and the final version will be available to all users.
