Tencent unveiled its artificial intelligence that can create 3D designs

Hunyuan 3D 3.0 uses an additive manufacturing process to create more realistic characters, textures, and geometry while mitigating common flaws in AI modeling. The platform is free to use, with a professional version currently in testing and an open-source version planned, positioning it as a practical tool for the future of 3D content creation.

Hunyuan 3D 3.0, the latest version of Tencent's AI-powered 3D modeling system, features significant improvements over its previous version. According to the company, the model provides three times the accuracy of the previous version. These technical advancements allow the system to produce much more precise and realistic images than previous versions, making it more suitable for both experimental and professional use.

Figures created with Hunyuan 3D 3.0 exhibit more consistent human features, realistic-looking skin textures, and postures that mimic real-world body movements. The model is also designed to predict unseen parts when parts of an object or character are rotated or out of view, resulting in a more accurate overall appearance. This reduces gaps and illogical artifacts that often limit the usefulness of automated generation.

Hunyuan 3D 3.0 is currently available by invite, but will be available to all designers in the future.
