The new iPad Pro may come with dual front cameras

Apple plans to take the user experience to the next level with its new iPad Pro, expected to be unveiled later this year, likely in September. According to Mark Gurman, the tech giant aims to provide an optimal video calling and Face ID experience in both portrait and landscape orientations by equipping the device with dual front cameras. Of course, it's safe to say that these dual cameras will also serve other purposes.
Apple moved the front camera to the horizontal edge for the first time on the iPad Pro, which featured the M4 chip and was introduced in 2024. This change was deemed quite useful for those who primarily use the device in landscape orientation. However, it made Face ID more difficult for those who use the tablet in portrait orientation. With the new iPad Pro, Apple is preparing to add a second front camera to the vertical edge to address this issue.
This seemingly small innovation could actually make a big difference in terms of ease of use. Users can now keep the camera centered during video calls or taking selfies, no matter how they hold the device.
The new model is reportedly coming with hardware updates, not just camera updates. As mentioned earlier, Apple's new M5 chip is said to deliver increased performance and energy efficiency. This means the new iPad Pro will be more powerful and have longer battery life.
Apple is preparing to update not only the iPad Pro but also other devices like the Vision Pro, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac with M5 and later-generation chips. These steps continue the company's vision of creating a more holistic performance line across its product line using its own silicon chips.
