Tokyo Fire Department Purchases Airbus H225 Helicopter

Japan's Tokyo Fire Department has signed an agreement with Airbus Helicopters to purchase a new H225 helicopter to upgrade its fleet. The move is part of the agency's strategy to maintain high operational readiness for critical missions such as aerial firefighting, search and rescue, emergency medical services, and disaster response.
Jean-Luc Alfonsi, General Manager of Airbus Helicopters Japan, expressed his satisfaction with the nearly 60-year collaboration with the Tokyo Fire Department, emphasizing that the H225 will make significant contributions to life-saving operations with its versatility and durability.
The new H225 will offer rapid emergency response capabilities, including search-and-rescue mode, emergency stretchers, and a fuselage-mounted water tank. The Tokyo Fire Department currently operates an Airbus fleet of three H225s and three AS365s.
With its strong performance, long range and high payload capacity, the H225 continues to be actively used in both military and civilian missions throughout Japan.
