Apple stops it when it sees it! This feature will end some conversations before they even start

Users testing the beta version of iOS 26 have discovered a striking feature during video calls. If the system detects nudity in a FaceTime call, the call is immediately paused. This security mechanism freezes not only the image but also the audio. Users are given two options: "Continue" or "End".

Apple has been keen to emphasise that its security features, such as nudity detection, all work on the device, meaning that photos or videos are not sent to Apple servers; the analysis is done entirely locally, within the iPhone.

This means that Apple cannot access your image. The device only evaluates whether it contains nudity and displays the necessary warning. In this way, both security and privacy balance are maintained.

DEVELOPED FOR CHILDREN, DISSEMINATED TO EVERYONE!

The technology was initially developed to protect young users from inappropriate content. The system, part of Apple’s Communications Security toolset, included functions such as blurring images in messages, FaceTime calls and even nude photos in shared albums.

However, in the latest beta, this feature appears to be available for FaceTime calls with adult users who don't have a child account. Apple has yet to make an official statement on the matter.

BETA TESTING PROCESS WILL BE DECISIONAL

iOS 26 is set to make waves with its controversial Liquid Glass design, revamped Messages, Wallet, and CarPlay improvements, but security innovations like nudity detection and the ability to pause calls will be shaped by user feedback during the beta phase.

So, will this automatic 'stop' feature in FaceTime be permanent, or is it just for testing purposes? The decision will be determined by both Apple's and users' reactions.
